Windows Microsoft Corporation developed Windows Operating System (OS), a computer Operating System, for running personal computers (PCs). With this, they also developed a very good and user friendly interface. Microsoft calls this interface the Graphical User Interface (GUI). This Operating System has evolved over time ever since its inception. The subsequent version of the OS was Win 95. This was a full fledged OS that integrated MS DOS with it. Also, this OS offered some built in features. Now, it had he internet support and the web browser, the Internet Explorer, built into the Operating System. The OS journey did not stop here. The year 2001 saw the release of Windows XP. This version of the OS offered multiple editions one each for individual users, businesses, multimedia developers and so on. The journey of the OS followed route to Win Vista. Microsoft released Win Vista in the year 2006. This version of the Operating System didn’t provide a good user experience to it’s users. Microsoft responded to their dissatisfaction with this OS and developed Windows 7. The users of this new OS highly welcomed it. They adopted this OS with great enthusiasm. Microsoft respected the computing needs of every interest group. So, they developed editions of Win 7. Although, this OS has been phased out, Microsoft still supports it.
